Baseball Preview: St. Agnes Aggies vs. Nova Classical Academy Knights

St. Agnes has gone a perfect 5-0 against Nova Classical Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Aggies will square off against the Knights at 6:15 p.m. St. Agnes will be strutting in after a win while Nova Classical Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

St. Agnes was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Liberty Classical Academy on Friday. The Aggies blew past Liberty Classical Academy 9-1. The Aggies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by eight runs or more this season.

Charlie Witzel was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Danny Plamann, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
