Baseball Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

Vardaman hit Columbus with a four-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons came up short against the Rams, falling 12-5. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Jaylon Sparks and Dylan Bush did some serious damage despite the final result: Sparks went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Bush got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Bush is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Jordan, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Vardaman, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus will welcome Bruce at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Vardaman, they will take on Shannon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
