DAVID ASCANIO put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April on Thursday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out three batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He is becoming a predictor of South Bend Adams's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 4-17 when he doesn't).

Coming up, ASCANIO and South Bend Adams will head out to take on Elkhart at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 125 places lower in Indiana), but they're not letting that get them down.
