Softball Recap: Moore County Wins Going Away Against Cornersville

Moore County had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Cornersville on Friday. The Moore County Raiders put the hurt on the Cornersville Bulldogs with a sharp 18-7 win. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Kallie Ross made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Moore County got a massive performance out of Savannah Rose, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Tilly Parsons, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Moore County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Cornersville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4-1.

Coming up, Moore County is taking a road trip to square off against Marion County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cornersville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eagleville at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th.
