Baseball Game Preview: Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs vs. Chaminade Red Devils

Fort Zumwalt South is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Chaminade a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Chaminade Red Devils at 9:00 a.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Fort Zumwalt South's offense. They came up short against Fort Zumwalt East on Wednesday, falling 10-0.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Chaminade and St. Louis University had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Red Devils fell just short of the Junior Bills by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Red Devils have suffered since April 22nd.

Jackson Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Chaminade saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Cosby, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Fort Zumwalt South's defeat dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Chaminade, their loss dropped their record down to 3-21.

Everything went Fort Zumwalt South's way against Chaminade in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Fort Zumwalt South made off with a 13-4 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
