Softball Recap: Kenmore East Victorious

Kenmore East's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over the Maryvale Flyers. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Brea Cupido spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. The game marked her first with multiple earned runs this season.

On the hitting side, Alessandra Collana was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those runs were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Wright, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Kenmore East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .689. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kenmore East's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Maryvale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6-1.

Kenmore East didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-7 defeat against Lewiston-Porter on the 12th. As for Maryvale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 13-5 win against Cheektowaga on the 12th.
