Baseball Recap: Ell-Saline Comes Up Short

Ell-Saline had lost ten straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-14 to make it 11. They fell just short of the Bennington Bulldogs by a score of 6-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on Friday.

As for Bennington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch.

For Bennington's part, they let Connor Fry and Brock Murk run wild. Fry went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Murk got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Bennington is undefeated when Fry posts two or more runs, but 2-11 otherwise.

Ell-Saline didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-3 loss against Trinity on the 6th. As for Bennington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-0 victory against Canton-Galva on the 6th.
