Basketball Recap: Aniyah Cowart's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Broward over Pembroke Pines Charter

South Broward was the 59-22 winner over Pembroke Pines Charter when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The South Broward Bulldogs took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars.

South Broward's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aniyah Cowart, who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. What's more, Cowart also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in January. Ayonna Lewis was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six boards and three steals.

Leading Pembroke Pines Charter to victory were Ava Rivera and Khaila Sprouse. Rivera put up 12 points, while Sprouse had ten points. Marai Osborne was another key player, posting six points.

South Broward's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

South Broward and Norland will face off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Boyd Anderson at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pembroke Pines Charter is facing Boyd Anderson at the right time seeing as Boyd Anderson is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
