Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Loss

Hillcrest entered their matchup against Campus Magnet on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Hillcrest Hawks were beaten by the Campus Magnet Bulldogs 53-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Hawks were not able to get on the board.

Hillcrest's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-2. As for Campus Magnet, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Hillcrest will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Newtown on January 4, 2025. Campus Magnet also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Flushing at 4:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Campus Magnet is facing Flushing at the right time seeing as Flushing is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
