Softball Preview: Golden Valley Cougars vs. Buhach Colony Thunder
Golden Valley is 10-0 against Buhach Colony since April of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Golden Valley Cougars will be playing at home against the Buhach Colony Thunder at 3:30 p.m. Golden Valley will be strutting in after a win while Buhach Colony will be coming in after a loss.
Golden Valley put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They never let Central Valley onto the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The win was just what Golden Valley needed coming off of an 18-2 defeat in their prior matchup.
Bree Barner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Barner has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive pitching appearances. Barner was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with a home run.
