Farmington is 7-1 against Viewmont since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Phoenix will head out on the road to face off against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Phoenix fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They walked away with a 36-24 victory over Northridge on Tuesday.

Farmington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooklyn Romney out in front who posted 11 points and six boards. Those six rebounds gave Romney a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Dorius, who scored seven points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Viewmont beat Salem Hills 57-53 on Tuesday.

Viewmont's win came from a few key players Farmington will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Peyton Burningham, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. Kailey Selleneit was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Viewmont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Farmington barely slipped by Viewmont in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 36-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Phoenix since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
