Football Recap: Garfield Comes Up Short

Garfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 26-20 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Mary Gaels. The Boilermakers were not able to make up for their loss to the Gaels from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

Garfield now has a losing record of 4-5. As for St. Mary, their record now sits at an identical 4-5.

Looking ahead, Garfield will take on Clifton at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Boilermakers will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.13 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for St. Mary, they will face off against Immaculata at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Gaels surely won't give up without a fight.
