Basketball Recap: Grape Creek Takes a Loss

Grape Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 49-35 to the Sweetwater Mustangs. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 42-40.

Sweetwater got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mallory Gibson out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most boards Gibson has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kallie Scherwitz, who posted 17 points.

Grape Creek's loss dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Sweetwater, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-15.

As of now, neither Grape Creek nor Sweetwater have any future games scheduled.
