Softball Recap: Hylton Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Hylton finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Massaponax Panthers. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Hylton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayel Williams, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Williams has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

Hylton's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Massaponax, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hylton will challenge Potomac Senior at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Massaponax, they will square off against Brooke Point at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are facing the Black Hawks at the right time seeing as the Black Hawks are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
