Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ellie Kleve and Anessa Colglazier Lead Holyoke to Victory

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Holyoke ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They snuck past the Wray Eagles with a 38-33 victory. This was payback for the Dragons, who suffered a 72-38 loss the last time these two teams met.

Holyoke was led to victory by Anessa Colglazier and Ellie Kleve. Colglazier dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds, while Kleve went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points and five boards. Those 18 points gave Colglazier a new career-high.

Holyoke was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wray only posted four assists.

Wray lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Danyelle Davis, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Katie Harms, who posted four points in addition to eight steals and five rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Holyoke and bumps their season record up to 3-5. As for Wray, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Holyoke wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-32 loss against Stratton on the 10th. Wray has also already played their next contest, a 59-33 defeat against Sedgwick County on the 7th.
