Softball Recap: Notre Dame Comes Up Short

Notre Dame and D'Arbonne Woods squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Notre Dame had to settle for second. They fell just short of D'Arbonne Woods by a score of 13-11. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Pioneers, who until this matchup were averaging 2.8 runs allowed.

Malayna Daigle and Kenley Sonnier did some serious damage despite the final result: Daigle got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base, while Sonnier went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Valerie Brown, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Notre Dame's defeat dropped their record down to 32-3. As for D'Arbonne Woods, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-7.

Notre Dame does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for D'Arbonne Woods, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-0 loss against Calvary Baptist Academy on the 3rd.
