Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Rocio Garay and Justien Tido Lead Riverside to Victory

Riverside's tournament run continued when they took on Ontario on Friday. The Riverside Pirates walked away with a 34-27 win over the Ontario Tigers.

Leading Riverside to victory were Justien Tido and Rocio Garay. Tido almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards, while Garay went 5 of 12 on her way to 10 points and four steals. Tido is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Riverside's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Ontario, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside and Grant Union will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ontario, they will venture away from home to challenge Weiser at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Weiser will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Ontario surely won't give up without a fight.
