Football Game Preview: Westbrook Christian Warriors vs. Munford Lions

The Westbrook Christian Warriors will square off against the Munford Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Westbrook Christian is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Piedmont on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 42-21. The Warriors have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Westbrook Christian might have lost, but man, Brody Blevins was a machine: he rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 225 yards on 15 of 23 attempts. A healthy portion of Blevins' aerial production (91 yards to be exact) went to Brodie Johnson.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Munford took on Handley on Friday. The Lions were beaten by the Tigers 42-14. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Tigers are ranked 73rd).

Westbrook Christian will have to contain Javier Curry as he made an impact in Munford's last game. He rushed for 108 yards and one TD on only 15 carries.

Having lost for the first time this season, Westbrook Christian fell to 3-1. As for Munford, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
