Volleyball Game Preview: Lakeview Vikings vs. Scotus Shamrocks

For the first time this season, Lakeview will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to square off against the Scotus Shamrocks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeview will be strutting in after a win while Scotus will be coming in after a defeat.

Lakeview saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against Ashland-Greenwood by a score of 2-0.

Meanwhile, Scotus unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Lincoln Christian, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Shamrocks have suffered since September 2nd.

Scotus was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-17, 25-12.

Lakeview is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Scotus, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Lakeview beat Scotus 2-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Shamrocks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
