Basketball Recap: Crosspointe Christian Academy Beats Community Baptist Christian for Their Fourth Straight Win

Crosspointe Christian Academy came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 62-40 margin over the Community Baptist Christian Cougars. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 22 points or more this season.

Crosspointe Christian Academy was led to victory by Phil Fitzsimmons and Coltenn Wagner. Fitzsimmons dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds, while Wagner dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Wagner is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 19 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jonah Amaker, who posted four points and five steals.

Community Baptist Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colton Aurand, who put up ten points. Coleman Hogberg was another key player, putting up six points.

Crosspointe Christian Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Community Baptist Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Maranatha Baptist the next time they take the court. Community Baptist Christian will head out to face Maranatha Baptist at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while Crosspointe Christian Academy will play them later in the day, at 3:30 p.m.
