Basketball Recap: Piggott Takes a Loss

Piggott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Campbell Camels and fell 72-40. While losing is never fun, the Mohawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 243rd in Arkansas, while the Camels are ranked 63rd in Missouri).

Piggott's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Campbell, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Piggott has already played their next game, a 64-44 defeat against Marmaduke on the 17th. As for Campbell, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Naylor at 5:30 p.m. on December 30th. Campbell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Naylor likes a good challenge.
