Basketball Recap: Winner Takes a Loss

After flying high against Parker/Marion on Tuesday, Winner came back down to earth. The Warriors were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 58-57 to the Parkston Trojans. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Winner still got an impressive performance from Carter Craven, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Craven's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Craven, who posted seven points.

Winner's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Parkston, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Winner wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-38 victory against Lower Brule on the 3rd. As for Parkston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hanson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will be up against the Beavers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
