Volleyball Recap: Millennium Comes Up Short

Millennium came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the River Islands Riptide. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Riptide this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Millennium was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-22, 25-17.

River Islands found their leader in sophomore Taray Irving, who had 12 digs.

Millennium dropped their record down to 1-11 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for River Islands, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millennium will take on Aspire Langston Hughes Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River Islands, they will square off against Chavez at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
