Basketball Recap: First Baptist Academy Comes Up Short

First Baptist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 39-21 fall against Westfair Christian. While losing is never fun, First Baptist Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 594th, while Westfair Christian is ranked 208th).

Westfair Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Griffin Prevett out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Prevett is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games he's played. Gavin Prevett was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

First Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Westfair Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

First Baptist Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. As for Westfair Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Quincy HomeSchool at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Westfair Christian's defense has only allowed 27.1 points per game this season, so Quincy HomeSchool's offense will have their work cut out for them.
