Volleyball Recap: Fishers Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Yorktown

Fishers faced Yorktown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Fishers lost 3-0 to Yorktown. Fishers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

While Fishers ultimately came up short, they really made Yorktown work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 26-24, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Fishers saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caitlyn Gutt had 13 assists and eight digs.

Yorktown can attribute much of their success to Lyndsey Robinson, who had seven digs and two aces.

Fishers' defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Yorktown, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Fishers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Westfield on the 9th. As for Yorktown, they will host Muncie Burris at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
