Basketball Game Preview: Garden Plain Owls vs. Southeast of Saline Trojans

The Garden Plain Owls will take on the Southeast of Saline Trojans in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Garden Plain is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 62 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Hesston on Thursday. They lost 49-26 to the Swathers. The Owls haven't had much luck with the Swathers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, Southeast of Saline came up short against Beloit on Friday, falling 66-46.

Despite the loss, Southeast of Saline saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hendrix Lund went 6-for-14 en route to 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lund has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Adam Thiel, who posted five points and nine rebounds.

Southeast of Saline's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Garden Plain, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Garden Plain strolled past Southeast of Saline in their previous matchup back in February by a score of 58-41. Will the Owls repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
