Soccer Game Preview: Green Level vs. Apex Friendship

The Green Level Gators are taking a road trip to take on the Apex Friendship Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Apex Friendship better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Green Level's game on Wednesday is any indication, that's when Green Level really gets things going. The Gators' defense stepped up to hand Middle Creek a 6-0 shutout. Green Level's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

They hit Middle Creek with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Meridan Eiden (2), Stella Eckhart (2), Jane Moore, and Ava Falick.

Meanwhile, Apex Friendship entered their tilt with Cary on Wednesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Imps. Given Apex Friendship's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Cary are ranked 375th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Green Level has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those eight matches. As for Apex Friendship, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3-1.

Green Level skirted past Apex Friendship 3-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Gators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
