Football Recap: Pampa Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jarren Hill and Max Neff

Pampa had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it seven. They fell 24-20 to the Caprock Longhorns. While the Harvesters didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Longhorns 7-0 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, Pampa had strong showings from Max Neff, who rushed for 139 yards on only 15 carries, and Jarren Hill, who rushed for 13 yards and three touchdowns. Neff is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 139 every time he's taken the field this season.

Caprock's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Pampa: they've now won four in a row.

Caprock's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Vargas, who rushed for 101 yards and one score on only 12 carries. Juan De La Cruz was in the mix as well, providing the Longhorns with two TDs.

Pampa didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-26 victory against Borger on the 19th. As for Caprock, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 34-28 loss against Canyon on the 18th.
