Basketball Recap: Edgewood's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Edgewood had lost three straight headed into Friday's game, but Ava Laroche didn't let it get to four. The Edgewood Mustangs secured a 36-31 W over the Brown County Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Laroche, who posted eight points and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Macey Crider was another key player, putting up four points and eight rebounds. She has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last seven times she's played.

Edgewood's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Brown County, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Edgewood and Brown County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Edgewood will square off against Northview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 112 places (202 vs. 90). Meanwhile, Brown County (ranked 391st) will meet Brownstown Central (ranked 53rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
