Volleyball Recap: Mandeville Takes a Loss

Mandeville managed to slip by St. Scholastica the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Skippers lost 3-0 to the Doves on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Skippers have suffered against the Doves since September 7, 2017.

While Mandeville was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17, 25-22.

Ava Burbrink paced Mandeville's offense, picking up eight kills. Burbrink got some help from Julia Marengo and her 26 assists. Soraya Amorajabi controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Mandeville is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-14. As for St. Scholastica, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

Mandeville will head out to face off against Covington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Scholastica, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Christ Episcopal School at 5:30 p.m.
