Baseball Game Preview: Bothell Cougars vs. Redmond Mustangs

For the second straight game, Bothell will face off against Redmond. The Cougars will head out to take on the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Bothell took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Redmond by a score of 5-1.

Kam Matthews spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bothell let Cam Wallace and Parks Eugster run wild. Wallace got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Eugster went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Wallace is becoming a predictor of Bothell's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 7-8 when he doesn't). Ayden Rheaume also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Bothell now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Redmond, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
