Basketball Recap: Kristian Gibson and Alenzo Talley Secure Win for Shaw

There's no place like home for Shaw, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 60-40 margin over the Kendrick Cherokees on Tuesday. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cherokees, too.

Shaw was led to victory by Alenzo Talley and Kristian Gibson. Talley posted 20 points, while Gibson earned 17 points. Talley is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Quae'Shaun Mahone and Andrew Spivey certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Mahone put up five points and three steals, while Spivey scored seven points. Mahone is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Shaw pushed their record up to 6-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Kendrick, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-4.

Shaw has already played their next match, a 91-40 loss against Carver on the 20th. As for Kendrick, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-64 defeat against Columbus on the 16th.
