Basketball Recap: West Hardin Comes Up Short

After flying high against Danbury last Tuesday, West Hardin came back down to earth. The West Hardin Oilers fell just short of the Sabine Pass Sharks by a score of 47-44 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Oilers in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now lost three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sabine Pass to victory, but perhaps none more so than Devin Roberts, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Daiven Miller, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

West Hardin's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-10. As for Sabine Pass, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Hardin will face off against Deweyville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. West Hardin is facing Deweyville at the right time seeing as Deweyville is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Sabine Pass, they will square off against Danbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
