Baseball Recap: Valor Christian Victorious

While Valor Christian's victory against Columbine wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Rebels 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won eight in a row.

Sennon Lawrence looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also tossed two walks, which is notable because Valor Christian is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Valor Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Dean, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Dean has brought in this season.

Valor Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Columbine, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-8 record.

Valor Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rebels: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
