Volleyball Recap: Mentor Comes Up Short

Mentor suffered their biggest loss since April 8th on Saturday. They came up short against the Hudson Explorers, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-15, 25-9.

Samuel Reynolds paced Mentor's offense, picking up ten kills. Reynolds got some help from Noam Welch and his 21 assists. Reynolds was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Sam Disney was the offensive standout of the match as he had 13 digs. He has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times he's played.

Mentor's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Hudson, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

Mentor has already played their next game (against Cleveland Heights), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hudson, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Nordonia on the 6th.
