Recap: Lakeside Vikings vs. South Cobb Eagles
The Lakeside Vikings struggled with assists on Friday (the South Cobb Eagles had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Lakeside might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 50-45 to South Cobb, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Lakeside has struggled against South Cobb recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Tillman, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayd Muhammad, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Rajah Morgan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Cobb, scoring 25 points along with nine rebounds. Devin Wicker was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for South Cobb, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing North Atlanta the next time they take the court. Lakeside will head out to face North Atlanta at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while South Cobb will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
