With a playoff win on the line, Guilderland rose to the challenge on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Colonie Central Wolfpack 1-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Guilderland's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Colonie Central are ranked 113th).

Guilderland's one-goal win came courtesy of Oscar Colbert, who's now up to three this season.

Guilderland has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 43 goals over those 11 contests. As for Colonie Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8-1.

Guilderland has already played their next matchup, a 0-0 victory against Shaker on the 27th. Colonie Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
