Football Recap: Spotsylvania Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Spotsylvania after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Caroline who ended up claiming the real prize. The Knights took a 22-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cavaliers. The matchup marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Caroline's receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Blake Morris and Blair Morris. Blake gained 200 total yards and a touchdown while Blair picked up 57 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, Blake racked up 23 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Spotsylvania and nudges their season record down to 4-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-1 Courtland (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 91.7% over those games). As for Caroline, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
