Basketball Recap: Stafford Comes Up Short

Stafford played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Attica Bulldogs and fell 59-20. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 95th).

Attica got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cady Hemphill out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Hemphill is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoie Redgate, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Stafford's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Attica, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.

As of now, neither Stafford nor Attica have any future games scheduled.
