Basketball Recap: Saugerties Falls Despite Big Games from Celina Vail and Paige Vines

Saugerties lost against Kingston back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Saugerties Sawyers came up short against the Kingston Tigers, falling 53-33.

Despite the loss, Saugerties had strong showings from Paige Vines, who posted six points and three blocks, and Celina Vail, who scored six points in addition to nine boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Vail a new career-high in points.

Saugerties' defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Kingston, their victory bumped their record up to 6-14.

Coming up, Saugerties will face off against Beacon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Beacon will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Saugerties surely won't give up without a fight. Kingston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
