Baseball Recap: Salem Baptist Christian Vikings vs. Caldwell Academy
Salem Baptist Christian lost against Caldwell Academy back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Salem Baptist Christian Vikings fell 11-6 to Caldwell Academy.
Avery Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Montgomery Young, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
On Caldwell Academy's side, Jack Pearman tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits.
At the plate, Neal Swindell was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Kent Moles, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
