Basketball Recap: Pickens County Tornadoes vs. South Lamar Stallions

Pickens County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the South Lamar Stallions, falling 57-37. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-23 back in December of 2024.

South Lamar was led to victory by Anna Kate McAdams and Meagan Brock. McAdams went 7 for 16 on her way to 23 points and six steals, while Brock dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 boards. The match was McAdams' third in a row with at least ten points. Destiny Harton was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Pickens County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for South Lamar, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pickens County will venture away from home to square off against Gordo at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Lamar has already played their next contest (against Holy Spirit Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
