Basketball Game Preview: Goldthwaite Eagles vs. Martins Mill Mustangs

The Goldthwaite Eagles will square off against the Martins Mill Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Goldthwaite will be looking to extend their current 17-game winning streak.

Goldthwaite is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They escaped with a win against Mumford by the margin of a single free throw, 56-55.

Meanwhile, Martins Mill waltzed into their game on Friday with 15 straight wins... but they left with 16. They came out on top against the Sandies by a score of 53-44. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Sandies are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Goldthwaite better keep an eye on Archer Schneider. He was instrumental in Martins Mill's win, shooting 82% from the field to rack up 24 points and eight rebounds. The last time Schneider's field goal percentage was this high was back in December of 2024. Jak Kinder was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Goldthwaite's record now sits at 26-6. As for Martins Mill, their record now sits at 34-1.
