Meanwhile, Destiny Christian Academy never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Rio Linda 9-0. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by nine runs or more this season.
Ayla Tuua was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two hits in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Destiny Christian Academy let Maddilyn Woodcock and McKayla Fulmer run wild. Woodcock went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Fulmer went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Woodcock has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Abbey Falvey, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Destiny Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rio Linda only posted a batting average of .045.
El Camino's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Destiny Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. El Camino hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Destiny Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .372. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
