Volleyball Recap: West Valley Triumphs

The home team had won the previous three meetings between West Valley and Lakeside, and West Valley kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Lancers on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was West Valley who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-8.

West Valley found their leader in sophomore Destiny Ioane, who had five aces.

West Valley now has a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, West Valley will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Vista Murrieta at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeside, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Corona at 5:30 p.m.
