Basketball Recap: Rensselaer Central Comes Up Short

Rensselaer Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 76-63 to the Boone Grove Wolves. The Bombers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Jack Stevens was his usual excellent self, going 10-for-15 en route to 25 points and six rebounds for Boone Grove. Stevens' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Tristan Wilson, who went 7-for-9 on his way to 17 points.

Rensselaer Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Boone Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season.

Looking ahead, Rensselaer Central and Frontier will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Frontier will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Rensselaer Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Boone Grove, they will host Calumet New Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boone Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season.
