Softball Recap: Frankenmuth Falls Short of Goodrich in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Frankenmuth can now relate to. They fell just short of the Goodrich Martians by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Chloe Compau spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Frankenmuth saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Sprowl, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Frankenmuth's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Goodrich, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-9-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Frankenmuth nor Goodrich have any future games scheduled.
