Baseball Recap: Havelock Gets the Win

Havelock's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They never let the North Pitt Panthers get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their one-run performance the game before.

Havelock let Chase Champion and Ryan Ventry run wild. Champion went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Ventry went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI and two doubles. Those three RBI gave Champion a new career-high. Brady Munson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Havelock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Pitt only posted an OBP of .062.

Havelock now has a winning record of 2-1. As for North Pitt, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Havelock will take on West Craven at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Pitt, they will square off against Holmes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
