Football Recap: Forestview Takes a Loss

Forestview extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 2-7. They took a blow against the South Point Red Raiders, falling 56-14. If the Jaguars were looking for revenge after losing 47-0 to the Red Raiders when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cooper Phillips threw for 86 yards and one touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Tristan Holt was his top target, picking up 61 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Achilles Littlejohn rushed for 108 yards.

As for South Point, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Leading South Point to victory were Kaveaun Pless and Patrick Blee. Pless rushed for 203 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.7 yards per carry, while Blee rushed for 149 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries. Pless' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 103 rushing yards.

Forestview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-0 win against North Gaston on the 31st. As for South Point, they have also already played their next game, a 48-18 victory against Ambassador Christian School on the 31st.
