Softball Recap: Hamilton Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

While Hamilton's win against Perry wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Hamilton narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Perry 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Pumas: they've now won four in a row.

Liliana Russo tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Amanda Benites was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Hamilton pushed their record up to 14-5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Perry, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.

Hamilton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Perry: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
